JWL's goal is livelihoods improvement through institutional reform and better management of Nigeria's Hadejia-Jama’are-Komadugu-Yobe river basin.
The Hadejia-Nguru Wetlands, home to the majority of the basin’s increasingly impoverished rural population, are a particular focal point for this 4-6 year project.
ITAD, a UK-based development consultancy, manages the JWL project; funding is provided by the UK's Department for International Development (DFID).
